Zanhotel Il Canale is located located at a short walk from the railway station, it is easily reached by any means. In the heart of old Bologna overlooking the Aposa channel.  This is a natural watercourse that was formerly used to supply water to the city and to the moat that surrounded its walls. Today it flows in an underground gallery crossing the city.
A few suggestive stretches of the channel, which flows at the surface, can still be seen. One of these is next to the hotel.
